Time

What’s time?

     Time is one of the most important aspects all teachers must take into account. Time is one of the most challenging aspects for teacher to manage since everything must be timed. Time is the most difficult aspect for teachers to fulfill. So, time is the worst enemy teachers have.

    Have you ever heard that it’s better to have your enemies near you than far from you? Well, that’s what you have to do. All teachers have to learn how to deal with time since a good class has to be timed. In order to have a great class and good classroom management, teachers have to time all the activities they want to develop; that’s why, they have to know and learn how time works!

In order for teachers not to be running and

going crazy when time is over, teachers must

know that there’re many different types of

time, for example, allocation time, time to

learn, adequate time, beginning and ending

minutes.

•  Allocation time means academic learningtime, time scheduled for academic work in an academic areas.

• Time to learn is the time in which Ss will learn during a semester or during a certain time.

•  Adequate time is the right time for tasks or analysis of new learning. This is the time is the adequate to look for activities that help teachers make sure that learning is taking place.

•  Beginning and ending minutes. This are the first five minutes and last five minutes of the class which have to be remarkably interesting for Ss.

In conclusion, all teachers must be aware that their classes will be a complete mess without timing; they have to know how to deal with it and use it to get as many as possible benefits from it in order to make learning take place in their classrooms.

 

Dealing with New and Interesting Activities

       Trying to implement new and interesting activities to my classes has been a pain in my neck since I do not have the necessary resources for doing it. I cannot bring a song to the class since there is no electricity.  Moreover, trying to take my Ss to a computer lab requires me to fulfill a set of conditions and rules which I think I am not able to follow. That`s why, I have been implementing solve puzzles, dialogues, role-plays, repetition drills, and readings , but I consider I have to do something else in order to make my Ss get interesting in learning English.

The Seven Multiple Intelligences

        To know all people have seven different kinds of intelligence in frames of mind is overwhelming. Since most people misunderstand the concept of intelligence, they consider many Ss as fools. Not taking in to account that if someone tests bad at one issue, he or she might do better at doing something else, many teachers do not understand all Ss are outstanding.

      As everybody has his or her way of being bright, I have my own. I am smart since my mind is always trying to receive knowledge in either formal or informal education and to associate new knowledge with previous concepts or things already learned or seen. Probably, I’m not good at doing some tasks since I haven’t developed the seven intelligences at the same level.

 

     So, I consider that we as teachers must be aware that probably most of our Ss have not developed the seven intelligences; they might have mastered three or five. That’s why they might be good at doing some tasks and not so well at doing others. However, having taken this into account, we must look for the most suitable ways to help our Ss develop these intelligences by bringing to the class activities that make our Ss unconsciously develop them .I think that while doing this, our Ss will be able to improve their macro-skills and to learn in a funny and easy way!

Not Knowing What to Do

     Even though I have been facing many problems at school like classroom management and  lack of interest from my Ss toward learning English, the worst problem I have to face is the fact that all the school community love being on vacation. I do not know why they are missing classes very often. First, they spent two weeks on sporting activities without classes; then, the school heading decided to do some infrastructure changes, so the Ss lost most of their classes for about two weeks. This week, all the students are resting at their homes doing some guides; they are like on vacations, which is something they love. Even though all teachers are working at the school, as they say, all students are not, so I am not going to do my teaching practices this week which means I am not going to finish on time. That’s why I do not know what to do!!!
